The Good in APC Muslim-Muslim Ticket
AREWA AGENDA – At last, the APC government under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu surprises many with the news of the appointment of service chiefs with Major General Chris Musa as Chief of Defense Staff.
Chris Musa who hails from Zagon Kataf Local Government Area of the Christian dominated Southern Kaduna state, was until his appointment, the Theater Commander, Operation Hadin Kai that prosecutes the onslaught against Boko Haram terrorists in Northeast, Nigeria.
The appointment is a clear indication of the President’s resolve to decisively deal with all forms of criminality.
This is for the appointee’s outstanding role as theatre commander of operation Hadin Kai in decimating the heinous acts of Boko Haram insurgents which translated to the restoration of peace in the area and return of internally displaced persons to their various communities.
His stewardship also witnessed the surrender of thousands of terrorists who could no longer bear the intensity of the fire power.
General Musa’s appointment could therefore be described as a reward for hard work, rewarding his excellent performance in the various offices he held.
Prioritizing capacity and credibility in appointing the CDS proves wrong, pundits insinuating marginalization through Islamization by the APC having adopted Muslims as both Presidential and Vice Presidential candidates during the 2023 General Elections.
It shows the Tinubu/Shettima administration is after competence, professionalism, resilience and patriotism, not political, religious or ethnic affiliations in its appointments.
The new CDS’ instance testifies to this, as he hails from a section of the country (Southern Kaduna) dominated by Non Muslims and Non APC supporters.

By this scenario, those who mix religion with politics or make religion as a tool of achieving selfish political interests should think twice. APC led government demonstrates high integrity both in religion and politics which will eventually promote democratic values and norms.
It is therefore, clear that what Mal Nasir El rufai wanted to prove to the people of Kaduna especially to those that didn’t vote for his party that “Muslim -Muslim ticket will not cheat Christians and oppressed them, we will also treat them with fairness and dignity.
Islam entails justice fairness and equity to non Muslims and we’re determined to continue doing such.”
Despite all the resolutions by the CAN Kaduna state chapter to support the PDP presidential and Gubernatorial candidates and massive votes given to those candidates, APC shows maturity and decorum.
With the coming of the new chief of defense staff, well meaning Nigerians expect him to remain focused, determined and strategic so as to restore law and order in his native Southern Kaduna and other troubled parts of the country.
Let his vast wealth of military experience be the driving force in making Southern Kaduna a home of peace by ensuring that its people embrace unity peace and progress.
When this is achieved, Kaduna would regain its known status of a home away from home for all Nigerians.
This is the hope of the APC led Federal Government as championed by the visionary former Governor of Kaduna State, Malam Nasir El Rufa’i.
He and President Tinubu do not believe in discrimination and never condone indignity and injustice.
These are qualities that have manifested in him but many selfish individuals never want to believe.
We wish the new chief of defense staff a successful tenure.
