Man Stabbed To Death Over N500 In Jigawa
Police in Jigawa State have arrested a 20-year-old man, Lawisi Safiyanu, for allegedly stabbing one Muhammad Abba to death over N500 debt.
The command disclosed this in a statement issued by its Police Public Relations Officer, SP Lawan Shiisu Adam, on Tuesday, October 6, 2026.
The incident occurred at about 12:30am on October 1, 2026, at Chamo village, Dutse Local Government Area.

The police said preliminary investigation revealed that the victim had purchased a mobile handset from the suspect for N1,500.
He paid N1,000, but still owed the suspect N500.
A disagreement reportedly ensued over the outstanding N500, during which the suspect allegedly used a knife to stab the victim.
Abba was rushed to Rashid Shekoni Teaching Hospital, Dutse, for medical attention, but was pronounced dead while receiving treatment.
The police said the suspect was arrested and the knife allegedly used in the incident was recovered as an exhibit.
The command added that investigation into the case had been completed and the suspect charged to court to face prosecution.
