Hajj 2023: NAHCON Organises Prayer Session for Nigeria in Arafat

AREWA AGENDA – The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has organised a special prayer session for the peace, tranquility, progress and development of the Nigerian nation, on the plains of Arafat.
The prayers were led by the Committee of Ulama, whose members took turns to pray for the Nigerian State to overcome all her trying moments, in security, political and socioeconomic spheres.
The scholars also sought Allah’s guidance for the country’s leadership at all levels of governance.
In his welcome address earlier, the Chairman of the Commission, Alhaji Zikrullah Kunle Hassan, appreciated the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima to the Commission in executing its mandate.

The Chairman also explained the tents and feeding challenges encountered in Mina and the measures taken to solve them, saying the authorities concerned have provided a ten thousand capacity tents for some of the stranded Nigerian pilgrims, and that by tomorrow distribution would be effected through the modules agreed with State Pilgrim Boards, Agencies and Commissions.
“I congratulate all of us, over 95,000 Nigerians made it here. I will like to remind you that we are the fifth largest contingent in Arafat today.
“We have struggled to ensure we airlifted everybody. We pray Allah accept all our supplications in Arafat today.
“I appreciate the support of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his administration which made this feat possible. We also appreciate the support of the Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima.
“I must say that we are here at the time the weather is not friendly and very hard for all of us. But in Islam, the more difficult it is, the more our reward from Allah.
“I appeal that we should be patient with our leaders.
“I want to congratulate you once again, we ask Allah to accept our prayers and sacrifices,” he said.
The national prayers were offered in five different Nigerian languages, Hausa, Yoruba, Igbo, Fulfulde and Kanuri.
