EFCC Inaugurates  Zero Tolerance, Integrity Clubs in Sokoto, Makurdi Schools 

AREWA AGENDA – The Sokoto Zonal Command of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on inaugurated three new Zero Tolerance and Integrity Clubs at the Shehu Shagari College of Education and COE Model Secondary and Primary schools respectively, all in Sokoto State.

The three institutions, all within the same premises, were launched to further strengthen enlightenment campaigns against corrupt practices.

Speaking at the event, Executive Chairman of EFCC, Abdulrasheed Bawa represented by the Sokoto Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Assistant Commander of the EFCC ACE 1 Aliyu Yunusa, stated that “the need for a collective action against corruption has become imperative owing to the devastating consequences of the menace in Nigeria”

Lamenting the decadent state of public utilities in the nation, the EFCC boss urged youths to take ownership of the fight and reclaim Nigeria from the shackles of impoverishment.

Earlier, in a welcome address, the Provost Shehu Shagari College of Education, Sokoto Dr. Wadata Hakimi appreciated the EFCC for such a timely intervention and urged all students to join the Club.

“Character formation is the very foundation upon which the success or otherwise of every life is built. This explains why graduation certificates are issued both in Character and Learning”.

Leading the discussion on the Operational Manual for the Zero Tolerance and Integrity Clubs, Head Enlightenment and Reorientation of the EFCC, ACE 11 Aisha Mohammed challenged the students to be of impeccable character.

At the Makurdi Zonal Command of the Commission, another Integrity Club was launched at C.A.C Secondary School, J.S. Tarka Road, Makurdi, Benue State.

Bawa, represented by Head, Public Affairs, Makurdi Zonal Command Chief Superintendent of the EFCC, CSE Adeniran Adebayo Samuel who urged the students to be of exemplary conduct and make integrity their guide.

He described corruption as a disease that has left the country underdeveloped and advised the students to shun the practice of corruption and be anti-corruption ambassadors in their school, community and the society at large.

Elder Ajibade, Principal of C.A.C Secondary School commended the efforts of the EFCC for establishing the Club, “we are happy that we are now part of the EFCC Integrity Club and we promise to lead by example and become better citizens of Nigeria.
