Nasir urges government to train experts in managing Kano Cancer Centre
AREWA AGENDA – The Executive Director of Youth Society for the Prevention of Infectious Diseases and Social Vices (YOSPIS) Zainab Nasir Ahmad,has enjoined the government to train homegrown experts in managing the newly constructed Kano Cancer Center, adding that the source of funding will be key a hitch-free working environment.
Zainab who made the plea on her verified Facebook page expressed happiness that Kano is now a proud owner of the Africa’s biggest cancer treatment centre which is set to be commissioned very soon during the reign of Governor Umar Abdullahi Ganduje’s administration.

The new Cancer Centre will be the first state-owned cancer treatment facility, structurally designed to accommodate world-class facilities for both radiotherapy and chemotherapy cancer treatment, which upon completion, will cater for treatment of about 100 patients on a daily basis compare to the conventional centres that hardly take more than 20 patients,
The YOSPIS Boss then congratulated the Kano state Governor Dr Abdullahi Umar Ganduje the people of Kano state on the giant stride recorded by the state in the area of health.
“Congratulations to Governor Ganduje and the people of Kano State for this great achievement in the health sector”, it will be the first state-owned cancer treatment facility, structurally designed to accommodate world-class facilities for both radiotherapy and chemotherapy cancer treatment which will upon completion, cater for more than 100 patients on daily basis compared to conventional centres that hardly admits 20 patients per day, she submitted.
