Women Group Task Politicians to Bridge Gender Gap in Appointment of Public Office

AREWA AGENDA – A non-governmental organisation in Kano, 100 Women Lobby Group has tasked the politicians to be gender sensitive in making their engagement for the accomplishments of the 2023 general election.

The coordinator of the group, Dr Zainab Abba Gwadabe make this call while briefing the newsmen in Kano on Saturday.

She said women need to be included in the affairs of any kind of campaigns committee of different political parties to be part and parcel of those who will benefit from the victory of any candidate eyeing political office in Nigeria.

She further stated that the contribution of youth and women cannot be overemphasised as they stand to be the major percentage to participate in elections.

She later appealed to whoever emerged victorious in the 2023 general election to consider women’s appointment in high-ranking positions for their gender to feel accommodated in governing state affairs.

Recalled that early this year 100 Women Lobby Group paid an advocacy visit to various political party leadership in Kano and pledged to support women aspiring to hold political positions.
