Troops Nab Suspected Bandit During Operation in Kaduna

Operatives of the Nigerian Army have arrested a suspected notorious bandit, Ibrahim Adamu, during a security operation in Birnin Gwari Local Government Area of Kaduna State.

According to security sources, the suspect was intercepted by troops at a military checkpoint in the Damari axis while officers conducted a routine stop-and-search exercise.

Sources disclosed that the suspect had allegedly gained attention on social media, particularly TikTok, where he was known for sharing live videos believed to be linked to activities of armed groups operating in the area.

Items reportedly recovered from him include an AK-47 rifle, multiple mobile phones, and substances suspected to be cannabis.

Military authorities said the suspect is currently in custody as investigations continue into his alleged involvement in banditry and possible connections with criminal networks terrorising parts of Kaduna State and neighbouring communities.

The Army added that intelligence gathering and profiling of the suspect are ongoing as part of efforts to dismantle armed groups operating across the North-West region.
