‘I Was Called to Serve’ , Says Trending APC Aspirant After Kaduna Reps’ Screening Exercise
A young aspirant contesting for the House of Representatives seat for Sabon Gari Federal Constituency in Kaduna State has become the subject of widespread online discussion following his appearance at the screening exercise of the All Progressives Congress.
The aspirant, Mahmud Sadis Buba, popularly known as Abin Al-Ajabin Zazzau, appeared before the party’s screening committee as part of preparations for the 2027 electoral contest.
A viral video from the exercise showed Buba answering questions from panel members while dressed in traditional attire. His youthful and boyish appearance immediately drew attention on social media, with many Nigerians expressing disbelief that he had reached the constitutional age requirement to contest for a seat in the House of Representatives.
Responding to questions during the screening, Buba stated that he is 30 years old and the first child in a family of nine. He explained that his decision to seek elective office was driven by calls from people within his constituency who wanted him to represent them at the National Assembly.
He stressed that his ambition was based on service to the people rather than personal gain.

The aspirant also appealed to party officials to ensure fairness in the screening process, insisting that he had fulfilled all conditions required to contest for the APC ticket.
Buba disclosed that the race for the party’s nomination currently involves two contenders — himself and the sitting member representing the constituency in the House of Representatives.
When asked why he was seeking to replace the incumbent lawmaker, the aspirant responded that the pressure to contest came from members of the constituency.
Beyond the screening exercise, Buba is known as the chairman of the Tinubu–Uba Sani Agenda ’27 support group and recently purchased the APC nomination and expression of interest forms.
His emergence has sparked conversations around youth participation in governance, with supporters describing him as a grassroots mobiliser capable of inspiring young Nigerians to become more active in politics.
While some social media users praised his confidence and calm responses during the interview, others questioned the manner in which some of the questions were framed, arguing that they appeared dismissive because of his youthful appearance.
The development has further fueled debate over age, competence, and inclusion in Nigeria’s political space as preparations gradually intensify ahead of the 2027 general elections.
