SOKAPU accuses soldiers of complicity in recent Kaduna killings

AREWA AGENDA – The Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU) has called on the military authority to probe the alleged involvement of some soldiers in the recent attacks and killings by terrorists in Southern Kaduna communities, which led to the death of 39 people.

In an official statement yesterday in reaction to the deadly attack by bandits, the spokesman of the Union, Luka Binniyat said: “We attended the solemn and sad burial prayer for 39 slain villagers of Mallagun and surrounding villages in Kaura Local Government Area (LGA) of Kaduna State on the 13th and 18th December 2022, and heard very disturbing allegations against the personnel of the Nigerian Army in the massacre.”

According to him, “the affected villages that are closely knit with Mallagun are Unguwan Mission, Uza-oetsivon, Stok owai and Matstukum”, pointing out that “others are Sakong, Manyi oegbung and Dussai.”

“The SOKAPU team, which was led by its 1st Vice President, Comrade Elisha Rosi to Government Secondary School, Mallagun, venue of the burial service, was appalled by the total absence of any representation by Kaduna State government. No message of any sort was sent. No relieve material has been sent to the displaced,” he added.
