Prof. Adamu Gwarzo’s 4th University: Proposed Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja received NUC assessment team ahead of the commencement of academic activities.

AREWA AGENDA – The National Universities Commission (NUC) Visitation Team paid a facility assessment visit to the proposed Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja as part of the national requirement.

The team visited the proposed university site on Wednesday, April 12th, 2023, along with the Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC) chaired by the founder, Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.

The NUC team that took part in the assessment visit include Mr Mustapha Rasheed, Deputy Director (Masterplan & Infrastructure), Mr. Abubakar Girei, Deputy Director (Academic Matters), Umma Giwa-Amu, Deputy Director (Governance & Legal Matters), as well as the secretariat staff, Nkiru Agagwuncha and Oluwayemisi Adeniji.

The main purpose of the visit to this proposed University was to assess the state-of-the-art facilities ahead of recommending the issuance of a license to the University to commence academic activities.

During the visit, the proposed university facilities inspected by the team include theaters, laboratories, computer laboratories, students’ sports center, lecture rooms, auditorium, operational water supply system, and University e and physical libraries.

In addition, the team also inspected the University clinic, students’ hostels, staff quarters, and staff offices, among others.

The NUC visitation team was overwhelmed and expressed their happiness with what they physically witnessed. They commended the founder and committee chairman Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo for establishing such an innovative edifice of knowledge in Nigeria’s capital Abuja at this material time of need.

In addition to Prof. Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo, Chairman of the Planning and Implementation Committee (PIC) of the Proposed University, others include Dr. Nura A. Yaro, Secretary of the committee, Dr. Shu’aibu Usman Tanko, and other committee members.

Professor Gwarzo briefly narrated that after welcoming the visitation team, his ambition is to educate millions of Nigerians and Africans through innovation and creating access and affordable education in education.

Recall that the Canadian University of Nigeria, Abuja, and Franco British International Kaduna are among the upcoming universities established by the young dual professor.

Others in full operation include the first bilingual university in Sub-Saharan Africa, Maryam Abacha American University of Niger Republic (Maradi), and the Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano.
