2023: Kano Police warns Politicians against usage of weapons, thugs during electioneering period

AREWA AGENDA – The Kano Police Command have charged political leaders in Kano State to shun all acts capable of endangering the peace in the State.

Commissioner of Police, Kano State Police Command, CP Abubakar Lawal made the call during a stakeholders’ conference as political parties commence campaigns.

He said the meeting was aimed at sensitizing all political party leaders in the State on the need for peaceful coexistence throughout the electioneering campaign period.

CP warned politicians against hate speeches, inciting statements in the media, excesses of media vanguards, use of drugs and thugs, and brandishing of weapons during political parties’ activities.

He advised the political party leaders to prevail on their supporters to be of good conduct by shunning any act capable of disrupting the peace being enjoyed in the State.

“We will not tolerate any move by any political party to cause trouble in the State as anyone caught will face the full wrath of the law,” he stated.

The leaders of the political parties promised to be law-abiding in all their political activities.
