Gaya Lawmaker Offers Free Medical Outreach to Constituent
AREWA AGENDA – The Federal House of Representatives Member Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu, Hon. Abdullahi Mahmoud Gaya sponsored the free medical outreach and free drugs to more than 300 constituents on Sunday.
The exercise which was conducted at Nafisatu Primary Healthcare Care facility at Gaya South, Gaya Local Government Area of Kano State focus on Physiotherapy and Checking of Blood Pressure monitored by Plenary Community Base Health Organisation and Nigerian Association of Physiotherapy Students, Bayero University, Kano Chapter..
The Chairman of Plenary Community Base Health Organisation, Ibrahim Hassan confirmed that the medical outreach targeted 300 individuals to above based on the number of patients they received from both Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu Local Government areas at the facility.
Mr Ibrahim who is working as Physiotherapist in Jigawa State said their organisation is giving free medical services to the Community who have no access to see trained physicians based on their peculiar diseases.
He later said their organisation was sponsored by the Hon. Member representing Gaya, Ajingi and Albasu to conduct the exercise with free medication to the patients.
The President of Nigerian Students of Physiotherapy Association, Bayero University Kano Chapter, Fakhruddin Auwal Tahir said the motive behind the medical outreach is to take care of rural community dwellers.

“You rarely find a physiotherapist in rural areas, therefore we used to organise this kind of medical outreach to reach people that are in need of our services and advised them if necessary,” Fakhruddin said
While asking how does the patients were selected Fakhruddin said “We gave an announcement 3 days ago, therefore patients that are in need of our services such as
Musculoskeletal and Neurological Disorders eg. Stroke, cerebral palsy etc. should be at this facility today, and as you can see they are gathered from different three local governments where we gave the announcement”
He later reaffirms his appreciation to the Hon. Abdullahi Mahmoud Gaya for the kind sponsorship of all the expenditures at the facility from the medication, feeding and transportation allowance to the volunteers of the program.
Aisha Yusuf from Albasu was among the patient who was treated at the facility, she appreciated the sponsor of the free medical outreach and confirmed the receipt of free medication without paying a penny.
An 81-year-old paralysis patient Bilyaminu Ajingi confirmed to our correspondent that he received a proper checkup and free medication at the facility. The ageing patient after sending an appreciation message, he urged the lawmaker to continue offering such services to his constituents and pray for Allah to continue giving them committed lawmaker like Hon. Abdullahi Mahmoud Gaya
Alhaji Kyauta Balan from Gaya brought his mother for the checkup and supported advice with medication thanked Allah SWT for giving them Hon. Abdullahi Mahmoud Gaya as their representative who is committed to the needs of his constituents from a different angle of human life. He later appreciated Hon. Gaya and the volunteers Physiotherapists who dedicated their time to providing the services at the grassroots level.
