APC CRISES: You Bello me, I Ganduje You

By Adanu Isaiah

The current tumoil and imbroglio at the National Secretariat of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in abuja where two top chieftains and stalwarts of the party danced naked in the public is far from been over as plot to remove APC National Chairman his Excellency Umar Ganduja from office may have festered as the arohead of the plots His Excellency Alhaji Yahaya Bello the immidiate past Governor of Kogi state have been held hostage at his Maitama residence in Abuja over what EFCC called money laundering charges hanging over his neck when he held sway as chief executive of lord Lugard house, lokoja.

Yahaya Bello according to pundits was alleged to have hatched a nauseating plan to push Ganduje out as APC national Chairman upon the expiration of his own tenure as Kogi state Governor.

The coordinated plan reached apogee as Bello in collaboration with Ganduje’s arc political rivals in kano state bulldozed their way to the supposed ward of Umar Ganduje to have him suspended from the party.

A move seen by many political watchers in the country as jokes taken too far.

Not even the damage control mechanism employed by the Kano state APC to upturn the earlier decision of the ward executive through a face saving mission in the name of a world press conference was enough as the Kano state high court dangled another sledge hammer on Umar Ganduje with an order of perpetual injunction restraining him from further parading himself as member of the party in his ward and Chairman of the largest political party is Africa.

Upon the realization by Ganduje of Bello’s involvement in the macabre dance and dangerous game in Kano and aware that the same move swept the likes of APC Adams Oshoemohle and Ayu of PDP etc out of power, Ganduje activated his tentacle with EFCC to pull a sting operation against Yahaya Bello in order to clip his wings as they besieged Bello’s resident in Maitama, Abuja.

A reminisce of the 1979 inglorious political era that pitched Godwin Daboh and Joseph Sawuan Tarka against each other, ( you Daboh me I Tarka you).

At the root of their fight is Yahaya Bello’s perceived undercurrent dealings by Chairman Ganduje to provide the necessary arsenal that will eventually remove his successor as the Governor of Kogi state.

It was largely believed by analysts, that Ganduje has infiltrated the Kogi state governorship tribunal with a view to sacking Ododo and have him replaced with his opponent, the SDP Governorship candidate in the last election, Alhaji Muri Ajaka,

whom was known as APC chieftain before the election, and will gladly return back to the party immediately he wins from the tribunal.

Yahaya Bello on the other hand have had his fists and claws with the tacit understanding, support and backing of Abba Gida Gida the NNPP incumbent governor rapped around the Kano state Anti graft agency with a desperate move to slice the throat of Ganduje and put him behind bar to pave the way for Bello to clinch the seat hence the fire brigade approach and move to have Ganduje and his wife prosecuted and convicted in a case of financial misappropriation, misapplication and outright embezzlement preferred against the former Kano state governor and his wife.

The heat from the infighting emanating from the court directive has not only led to the removal of Ganduje bill boards and giant posters at the party national secretariat by Bello’s die hard supporters but has equally compelled Ganduje to hand over to his deputy at the party national secretariat in a mood described by party faithfuls, loyalist and supporters as pensive

It is safer to say here that the coming days promises to be bloody and messier as both Yahaya Bello and Umar Ganduje relay back to the trenches to re-launch deadly blows on each others nose now that Yahaya Bello has regained freedom having been smuggled out of the siege by his successor His Excellency Alhaji Ododo amidst sporadic gun shots, by EFCC operatives who held Bello hostage for a numbers of man hours in a gestapo manner.
