BORNO: Army eliminates 24 Boko Haram terrorists

AREWA AGENDA – Troops of 112 Battalion and 24 Task Force Brigade, Operation Hadin Kai (OPHK) have neutralised over 24 Boko Haram fighters in the Mafa-Dikwa axis of Borno State.

The terrorists were killed during a coordinated fighting patrol with members of the Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) on Saturday.

A counter-insurgency expert in the Lake Chad region, Zagazola Makama, disclosed in Maiduguri, yesterday: “The terrorists hibernating in Sambisa Forest were all killed in Bulakulari, Gwari-Gwazo, Loskori, Limanti and Gaza villages of the Forest.”

He added that the villages were used to attack troops and other law-abiding citizens along the 40-kilometre Maiduguri/Ngo road.

The troops also recovered 40 bicycles and other weapons used in attacking some of the military bases and communities.

He added: “Troops made sure that the entire area were cleared of all suspected terrorists elements.”
