Varsity Suspends Exams for Tricycle Riders Strike in Kano

AREWA AGENDA – Yusuf Maitama Sule University, Kano State has suspended Monday’s scheduled examinations in the university as a result of Tricycle Commercial Riders strike in the state.

This was announced to the student yesterday by Dr. Ya’u Datti, Chairman Yusuf Maitama Sule University Examination Committee.

The announcement read “Sequel to the decision of the a-daidaita-sahu commercial riders to embark on a strike, the University has decided to suspend all examinations earlier scheduled for 8-11 am of Monday, 10th of January 2022.”

He further assured the students that, “the University examination committee will later consult with the Vice Chancellor to decide on the fate of the remaining examinations of the day”

Adaidaita Sahu Commercial Riders in Kano State calls for a one week strike in a letter circulated among their colleagues without mentioning the signatory of the leadership of their association claiming that, the state government is trying to introduce another tax which they see it as another way of molesting their privileges despite being paying agreed dues regularly without any delay.

Recall that, last year Adaidaita Sahu Commercial Riders embarked upon a strike last year in February whereby the leadership of their association sat and discussed with the authorities concerned to resolve their disagreement amicably.
