AREWA AGENDA – In the history of football soccer that initiated about 700 years (or so) in Greece no player of the game attracted the global fans’ attention like King Pele of Brazil. On the other hand some historians opined that the (now) called football soccer was created in China 206 BC to 220 AD and it was then called “Cuju” this means kick the ball into the net.
And again, the recent research indicates that a single person that can claim to have created the game was “Ebenezer Morley of England on October 26, 1863”. Since then, the rules and regulations of the game has not been significantly change up to the current time of VAR.

The global overseer of the game FIFA was created in 1904 and the world cup was initiated in 1930 and the last game was played in Qatar in 2022. Hence, currently sports contributes about $770B in global economic interplay. The last world cup in Qatar was the most expensive world cup ever hosted. Qatar spent over $220B as compared to the $16B spent by Russia in 2018.
The man Pele
The global football legend Pele was born in Brazil in 1940. And he started his football carrier in Santos football club when he was 15 years old and Brazil team when he was 16 years. Pele was the only player of the football game who won and honored his country with world cup three times (1958, 1962, 1970) ever. So, that was the reason the FIFA declared King Pele as the player of the 20th century.
I and my contemporaries watched his world cup game when we were in primary school in 1970 and we can still remember some of his team mates such as Dizinor, Palcawo, Soccortors and so on.
King Pele will forever be remembered in the history of football soccer in the world. Pele the legend, the icon of football soccer deserves to be honored in all parts of the world. RIP King Pele of the world.
