MAAUN organizes 2-day capacity building workshop for students and stakeholders

AREWA AGENDA – Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria (MAAUN) on sunday organised a two-day capacity building workshop on academic writing tips and strategies for students and stakeholders.

The workshop which was both physical and virtual was the first International Workshop on Information Searching, Sourcing and Use for Academic Writing, Tips and Strategies organised by the University’s Library, with over 1200 participants registered in attendance for the day-2 workshop.

Gracing the workshop at the school’s School of Health Science were academicians, students,lecturers, school management and other distinguished guests as well as other stakeholders from across the world.

In his remarks, the president of MAUN Prof. Mohammad Israr emphasized the commitment of the university towards providing access to quality education, adding that the decision to establish the institution was borne out founder and chairman of school governing body,Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo’s vision and commitment to providing the world with well-educated and talented leaders through providing quality education, and making It affordable and accessible to all.

He recalled that the university kick-started the academic activities of the institution with just four schools including the School of Social and Management Sciences, School of Computing, School of Medical Sciences and School of Nursing.

Prof. Israr added that MAAUN is one of the best private universities in Africa, and would strive towards advancing knowledge and technical skills in sub-Saharan Africa and beyond which is unparalleled in the African continent.

The President therefore thanked the organizers of the workshop, and as well called on the participants to make the best use of the opportunity provided to enhance their knowledge and skills, as the participants expressed their appreciaciation and happiness for the golden opportunity given to them, and lauded the founder’s innovative efforts.
