Kwara: Vigilante recover body of Batonu hunter allegedly murdered by suspected ritualists

Unknown persons suspected to be ritualists, have allegedly murdered a 29-year-old batonu hunter identified as Ba’a Sabi, in Kosubosu, Baruten Local Government Area of Kwara state.
The incident occurred on Saturday.
Ba’a Sabi’s brother informed security operatives in the area that the victim, left home by 11p.m on Friday, 30/08/2021 for his daily hunting activities, but did not return at about 6am when he was expected to return home.
“The family of Ba’a Sabi reached out to their District Head, to help them find out by reporting the incident to security agencies, if the victim was arrested and in their custody, but he wasn’t found there.”

The family continued the search and informed people in the bid to trace his movements and whereabouts and extended the search into the bush.
“Fortunately, they found his dead body by road side along Gwane/Kosubosu, with gun and stick used to kill him with traces of blood recovered.
“They later discovered that part of his body had been dismembered, like penis, two eyes and his heart, from the body,” the brother recounted.
The corpse has been deposited at a nearby hospital by the youths for further investigation.
The spokesman of the youth, when contacted on phone at about 8.30a.m on Sunday, confirmed the development.
He said there was a report of a missing 29-year-old hunter, who went out for hunting but did not return home.
He disclosed that the dead body of the victim had been recovered by the vigilante, though no arrest had been made.
The youth leader, said investigation was ongoing into the matter.
