APC chairmanship: stir as Modu Sheriff aspire to chair the position

by Fatimat Ibrahim Abedoh.

A chieftain of all the All progressive congress (APC ) Garus Galolo, has advised the party against fielding the duo former governors Ali Modu sheriff (borno state) and Abdullaziz yari (zamfara state) in the forthcoming election for the national chairmanship of the party.

Galolo in a statement on Sunday in Abuja said the advise became necessary following the men antecedent in the recent party.

The APC chieftain said there is need for the party to be cutious as they should learn and becareful of what transpired in the other parties.

While addressing the stakeholders and the party’s leadership to be strategic as the party approaches the conduct of its national convention, Galolo mentioned that it is amazing how zamfara state governor, Abdulaziz Yari, aspire to be the national party after he was suspected of refusing to recognize the tenure of the former national chairman, Adams Oshiomole which as a result cost APC the governorship of zamfara.

The statement also implore the party’s caretaker extraordinary convention planning committee (CECPC) to put the survival of the APC beyond the 2023 general election, its internal cohesion and peace among members as primary focus in accepting interests for the national chairmanship position.

According to him, Senator Ali Modu Sheriff is one who is allegedly taken to be a man who use his wealth to get what he wants and adopt the style of ‘sail and sink with me’ administration following his antecedent in his previous party PDP as well as the now defunct All Nigerian peoples Party (ANPP).

Thus , demand the party to be of great consciousness in it activity to ensure continue growth.
