Kaduna govt. trains 2,000 teachers

AREWA AGENDA – Kaduna State has commenced training of 2,000 teachers deployed to 155 schools in the 23 local governments.

The training is to equip the teachers in the core areas of modern teaching strategies and contemporary classroom management.

Opening the training in Kaduna, Deputy Governor, Dr. Hadiza Balarabe, said the administration had given premium to the education sector by giving it the support to thrive.

She explained that Governor Nasir El-Rufai had demonstrated strong political will in revamping the sector through consistent allocation of more than 27 per cent of its budgetary allocation to the sector.

The deputy governor urged the teachers to enhance themselves in the profession, stressing that the state was relying on them to achieve results, she said.

It was organised by Adolescent Girls Initiative for Learning and Empowerment (AGILE) Project under the Ministry of Education in collaboration with Teachers Service Board at Kaduna State University (KASU).

Project Coordinator, Hajia Sani Dangaji said AGILE had recorded success in addressing girl-child education.

“Since commencement of the programme in Kaduna State, AGILE has recorded success in addressing constraints of completing secondary school level for the adolescent girl-child”.

Chairman of Teachers Service Board, Alhaji Adamu Makadi, reiterated that the government would ensure delivery of quality education.
