IEDPU greets Agaka, Alaro on milestones
AREWA AGENDA – Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has congratulated two distinguished sons of the community, Alhaji Ismail Agaka and Prof. AbdulRazzaq Abdulmajeed Alaro, mni, on different milestones recently attained by the duo, saying that their career progressions were most welcomed.
The National President of the Union, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi, in a statement signed by the Union’s Image-Maker, Mallam Nurudeen Ibrahim, said that it was delighted with the appointment and swearing in of Alhaji Agaka as a Commissioner of the strategic Revenue Mobilisation, Allocation and Fiscal Commission by President Muhammadu Buhari, GCFR, and Prof. Alaro as the Most Outstanding Alumnus in Academic Impact of the globally famous Islamic University of Madinah, respectively.
“We are happy that the contributions of the two gentlemen who are also defacto members of the Union have again been recognised and rewarded”, Alhaji Uthman explained.

While Alhaji Uthman saluted the increasing recognitions coming the way of Prof. Alaro, a former Head, Department of Islamic Law, University of Ilorin, at national and international levels,the IEDPU President added that he was equally impressed by the outstanding professional pedigrees and accomplishments of Alhaji Agaka, who previously served as the Managing Director of the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund.
Alhaji Uthman appealed to other indigenes of the Emirate, particularly younger ones, to emulate the industry of Alhaji Agaka as he noted that the career trajectories of Prof. Alaro, who started out as a pupil of one of the several Arabic schools which dotted the landscape of Ilorin, also needed to be emulated by our younger ones who are pursuing that form of education, which defines our homestead.
The Union appealed to the duo to continue to keep the flag flying by working harder to justify the progression and putting the progress of the Emirate in the front burner.
The IEDPU President wished the two compatriots more rewarding careers.
