Hajj 2023: Jigawa Airlifts 1,627 Pilgrims May 27

AREWA AGENDA – Jigawa State Pilgrims Welfare Board has completed arrangements for the airlift of 1,627 pilgrims to Saudi Arabia on Saturday, May 27, 2023.

The executive secretary of the board, Alhaji Umar Labbo, disclosed the plan to journalists in Dutse.

Labbo said the exercise will begin with 395 prospective pilgrims from Dutse International Airport on Azman Air.

He said the board had so far processed visas for over 1,500 pilgrims, distributed uniforms and other kits to the pilgrims.

The executive secretary added that the board had paid about N4 billion to NAHCON, which represents 100 per cent of the state’s 2023 Hajj fares.

Labbo said all arrangements with stakeholders, including security agencies had been concluded for a hitch-free exercise.

The executive secretary said the board has also secured good accommodations for the pilgrims in the Holy Land.

He called on the state intending pilgrims to always monitor and listen to the media or contact centre officers for vital information on the exercise.
