AREWA AGENDA – In life there is possibility that there are some Kings or Leaders that can be described as “Midas Touch”. This means that whatever they touch can be turned into Gold. Why and how? Most likely they have giftedness in them set in by Almighty Allah (SWT).

On the other hand there are some people that are not “Midas Touch” and whatever they touch; even Gold can be turned into useless product. This is natural to human even amongst the Kings and Leaders in all over of the world.

Within the next hours the new leader in Nigeria in the name of Senator Ahmed Bola Adekunle Tinubu will be the new President of Nigeria in the next four years. He was elected President of Nigeria via Democratic system on the 25/02/2023 by the majority of voters in Nigeria; new President 29/05/2023 to 29/05/ 2027.

Constitutional Democracy or call “Liberal Democracy” has been in practice in the country since 1999. This means that Nigeria has been on Democratic transition which the world has been expecting the country to be amongst the top best Democratic Nation in the South South Nations in the next decades to come. Nigeria is an important country in Africa and the world.

Leadership

Leadership is a gift from God given to very few people in every society or nation for a possible peaceful coexistence of mankind. Also leadership is a personality; this means that it depends on the person’s personality and leadership style and his serialize strategic planning based calendar timeframe that he and his team wanted to implement for the benefits of the led and even for the global interwoven economic interplay, political decision making and global social issues.

Plato remarks that, had it been human person is sane, level headed, knowledgeable and law abiding in his society or nation “there would be no need for the law and the state.” This means that there is no need to establish a government or institution anywhere in the world or to enact a law for a man to do his daily activities. This means everyone knows what to do, what they’re doing and when to do it.

But considering the weakness’ nature of human being, the government leadership or institution must be established to maintain law and order and create policies on economy, social issues, societal’s interest, ambition and values must be protected to ensure peace, stability and economic prosperity.

Hence, since the natural emergence of human being on earth, leadership became imperative in every society on this planet. No society or nation can be at peace without formation of leadership. The leadership maybe traditional, feudal, appointed or elected.

The Emergence of Democracy

Democratic system was initiated in Athens (Greece) in the year 508BC. And the essence is for the people to elect their Representatives; that’s to represent them in affairs of the nation. That’s to say democracy is a system of representations of the people or a system of the people, for the people and by the people. Professor Attahiru Jega observed that there are three popular types of democracy in recent time “Liberal Democracy, Socialist Democracy and Direct Democracy” (Democracy, Good Governance and Development in Nigeria, 2007, Ibadan, Nigeria).

Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu as President of Nigeria 2023 to 2027

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu committed himself on a lot of promises to Nigerians and said he will bring “RENEWED HOPE” to the Nation. And the Nation and the world will be watching in the next few days on his Government’s policy direction. He has been given much and much is expected from him and his team-ship style of leadership.

What is bothering Nigeria and Nigerians today is stagflation, insecurity as well as massive corruption in the country. Nigeria with about 240M population as projected by the UN; unproductive population is number one enemy of the country. Hence, the new leader of Nigeria Bola Ahmed Tinubu must have the serialize strategic planning on how to tackle stagflation, insecurity and corruption in his first 100 days in office. All eyes on Nigeria and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his team-ship.

My advice to the newly elected President of Nigeria Senator Ahmed Bola Tinubu
