Gombe students still study under trees – Gov candidate alleges

AREWA AGENDA – The Gombe State governorship candidate of Action Alliance, Brig-Gen Nuhu Miller (retd.), has lamented that most children in the state’s rural areas study under trees in 2023, promising that he would equip schools if elected.

Miller made this disclosure on Thursday in an interview with journalists.

According to him, as the first orthopedic surgeon in the whole of the North-East, I have the far-reaching experience to deliver the state from bad governance.

He said strikes in tertiary institutions would be a thing of the past, adding that aside from education; healthcare delivery, agriculture, and water are included in his priority if elected.

Miller disclosed that he was involved in the creation of the state, adding that he worked painstakingly with other stakeholders to ensure Gombe comes to being.

He said, “I was involved in the creation of Gombe State. One has not been happy with what is happening in Gombe, especially in the education sector, one is not happy about it. We still have children in primary and secondary schools having education under the tree and this should not be. It’s affecting our future.
