Felicitation to Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba on his appointment as Kano State Coordinator, Cancer Care Centre (KCCC)

AREWA AGENDA – Aminu Magashi Garba was born on the 17th of October 1973. He graduated from the University of Maiduguri, Nigeria in 2001 with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), and obtained Diploma and Masters Degree in Public Health from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine in 2006/2007.
Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba is the founder and coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network, a regional group that uses budget advocacy to influence adequate health spending and improve transparency and accountability. The Global Co-convener of the Community of Practitioners on Accountability and Social Action in Health, Member of the Global Action Plan for SDG 3 Civil Society Advocacy Group, the immediate past civil society representative to the Global Financing Facility (GFF) Investors Group (2017/18) and currently a member of the steering committee of the Global Civil Society Coordinating Group for the GFF. In 2018, he served on the World Health Organization Civil Society Advisory Group for its Health Financing Campaign.

Dr. Magashi is a founding member of the National Advocates for Health, a policy and advocacy think-tank engaging in high-level advocacy on healthcare financing reforms. He is the publisher of an online newspaper “Health Reporters”, which reports on Africa’s health. He was recently announced by the Uniting to Combat Neglected Tropical Diseases (NTDs) as the co-chair of the Uniting to Combat NTDs Consultative Forum.
Dr. Magashi is well known for his unceasing legs in serving humanity who have touched and to date touched lives directly and indirectly for, he is an active worker with no feeling of arrogance or ostentation in carrying on his activities. He is broad-minded, free of selfish concerns, and has a heart full of love for all. He has been the spinal cord of many young people, and he has supported and lifted many in driving their dream to the dreamt lane.
Dr. Magashi has taken many from an unsound stage to the height that they are dancing their ground today because he is very passionate about encouraging young people to pursue their aspirations of being successful in life. He is well known for laying a soft hand to young people to positively chase their dreams. Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba is a champion who carries everyone along. We are really proud of you, Sir!
