Again, Kano Govt Receives Donation of Drugs from Friends of Kano Health Sector

AREWA AGENDA – The Kano State Government on Monday again received the donation of Medical Consumables from Friends of Kano State Health Sector within and diaspora headed by Dr Aminu Magashi Garba.

The donation witnessed the presence of various NGO’s with a symbolic presentation of materials to the 5 Health facilities in Kano State namely Murtala Special Hospital, Yadakunya General Hospital, Nuhu Bamalli Maternity Hospital, Marmara General Hospital and Ja’en Primary Healthcare Centre.

The distribution was made at the Premises of the Kano State Drugs and Consumables Management Agency (DCMA).

Recall that Dr Aminu Magashi Garba last week vowed that apart from the medical consumables they shared worth Fifteen Million Naira, friends of the healthcare sector in Kano are coming back to the DMCA to put another One Million Naira to provide drugs for pregnant women.

During the donation, Dr Magashi traced back the history of their emergence as the Friends of Healthcare Sector of Kano State in which he disclosed that they are doing it voluntarily without anybody’s intervention with a dime.

Magashi said that a lot of opportunities are in the diaspora, in Abuja and in many states in Nigeria where Kano can plunge into which the friends of Kano Healthcare Sector see they can bring it closer for the benefit of the common man in the state.

He later promised a total commitment with the hope of the government to start exercising a standing order every month from the total Internally Generated Revenue of Tetfund 5℅ to continue to support the health sector in the state.

He later urged the NGO’s presence to return next month to promote accountability and transparency in the distribution of consumables and interventions by the Friends of Kano Healthcare Sector within and in the diaspora.

Pharm Isah Bala thanked the donors and express his gratitude for the free maternity commodities shared and called for the facilities to use the commodities shared judiciously.

Dr Magashi and the team also inspected the drugs manufacturing unit of the agency and promised to schedule a technical meeting with the staff to explore mass production of drugs and market opportunities within and outside Kano State.
