AANI Hosts Course 44 of NIPSS in Katsina

AREWA AGENDA – The Alumni Association of National Institute AANI Katsina State Chapter has organized dinners in honour of course 44 who were on study tour to the state.

The tour is part of the requirements for the fulfillment of the award of the mni at National Institute for Policy and strategic Studies Kuru Jos.

The area of Study of the course 44, 2022 is strengthening Local Government Administration in Nigeria.

Speaking at the dinner, the Kanwan Katsina district Head of Ketare Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara mni suggested for the strengthening of Local Government areas in other to improve productivity and attain autonomy.

Alhaji Usman Bello Kankara who is also a member of the Alumni from course 35, 2013 said there is need to set up mechanisms of checks and balances in the local government service to ensure prudence.

The Kanwan Katsina noted that local governments in the country needs to improve on their internally generated revenue to reduce the over reliance on federal allocation.

The traditional ruler who stress the important of training and retraining of local government staff also advocate for improvement of reward and punishment as a yard stick to measure performance.

Others who spoke during the dinner include the Katsina State chairman of Alumni Association of National Institute Alhaji Lawal Aliyu Daura mni and retired Assistant Inspector General of Police Danlami Yar’adua among others.
