AREWA AGENDA – The Technical Adviser of Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation Dr Musa Abdullahi Sufi met with Dr. Ram Vaidya an Official of Indian High Commission in UK and discussed key areas of partnership in promoting Education for sustainable future of Africa and Communication techniques of narrating African stories by Africans.
The meeting was held at the home of popular business tycoon and media entrepreneur, Alhaji Dattijo Sa’idu Adhama in Bompai, Kano yesterday.
This interactive meeting aimed at Establishing partnerships in Africa for sustainable future and bringing out narratives of Africa by it’s inhabitants.
Some key areas highlight from the brief meeting were; establishment of Africa Study Center, character building programs for future leaders, partnership to promote volunteering, education and peace building exchange programs, Organising seminars and conferences to change the negative narratives of Africa, Building a multilateral relationship between Africa and India in areas of economy, history, film, culture etc.
Dr. Sufi said “It’s a privileged meeting with the seasoned business mogul and diplomatic official from India in respect of the development in education which the President of Maryam Abacha American University is promoting across the region of Africa. The future of African education is bright with this mutual relationship we are making”.
Sufi also expressed his happiness for been the part of the global efforts for better future of Nigeria and India in terms of educational development and promotion of socio-cultural activities of the duo countries. He welcomed the Indian Official to Nigeria and affirmed that he has a philanthropic project to show the world on education done by patriotic citizen in person of Professor Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo.
Dr. Sufi led the UK High Commission Official to Maryam Abacha American University of Nigeria, Kano Permanent Site to showcase the good development done on education and create more partnership between Nigeria and India.

While going round in the vicinity of Maryam Dr. Ram asked whether the President of MAUNN build the school solemnly or with the intervention of Federal Government or any other individual? Sufi answered him that the University was built firstly in Niger Republic and now extend it’s study centre to Nigeria whereby the President is the sole and brainbox behind the building of the two study centre with his personal wealth God given to him as a business mogul and educationist in the world.
Dr. Ram explained that the University is first of it’s kind ever seen by him in the entire West Africa with the modern infrastructure and laboratory provision for students studies and excelling in competitive atmosphere of learning.
“Maryam Abacha American University should collaborate with as many as possible centers at district level and provide Distance Learning Session for those that cannot afford to be here in Nigeria can join and learn so that in the next 15 years the level of literacy in Africa can massively increase” Ram said
He also said “We are collaborating with Maryam Abacha American University to have African Study Center in their premise, we are really looking forward the engagement of the University and the study centre”
When asking about his message to the founder of the University, Dr. Ram congratulates the President and termed him as a “Brave” personality who used his wealth in civilised way and built University for the development of humanity. “I will like to learn from his inspirational words and movement” Dr. Ram said
