Zulum Attends Funeral of Late Col. Slain by Boko Haram
AREWA AGENDA – The Governor of Borno State, his Excellency Prof Babagana Umara Zulum has attended the funeral of Late Col. Dahiru Chiroma Bako who was the Commanding officer of 25 army Brigade Damboa.
Also in attendance were the Chief of Army staff Lt. General Yusuf Tukur Buratai and Senator Ali Ndume, Senator representing Borno South.
The deceased was ambushed by insurgents yesterday along sabongari Damboa road. He was described as a dogged and gallant military officer with high sense of commitment to his job.

The funeral was performed according to Islamic rights following the military proceedings, official salutes, funeral oration by the chief of army staff, the gun salute and later the presentation of flag to the next of kin of the deceased.
The Governor in his remarks described the late officer as a committed person who remains resolute to the fight against insurgency. the Governor also made mention that Damboa has never been defeated under his command.
The Governor presented a house and a cheque of twenty million naira for the welfare of the deceased’s family. He prayed for his soul to rest in peace and for the family the fortitude to bear the lost
