Zaria and Jama’a top Kaduna LGAs Performance Index as “Rescue Team” Vows to Reposition Ikara

AREWA AGENDA – Zaria and Jama’a local councils has gotten the highest local government Fiscal Transparacy, Accountability and Sustainability Program (LFTAS) incentives for high performance as Kaduna state government approved the disbursement of N152.4 M to 23 local government councils in the state.
The councils were awarded these fiscal incentives after assessments under the Local LFTAS initiative of the State Government.
LFTAS programme was introduced by the Kaduna State Executive Council in June 2018 in order to strengthen intergovernmental fiscal coordination and support good practice in fiscal behaviour and standards across the 23 local government councils in the state.

Reacting to the development, a grassroots mobilization group, Ikara Rescue Team, whose vision is to bring Ikara LGA on-board inline with the vision of Kaduna state government reforms in the local government administration has vowed to spark the much needed debate that will bring about the real change in the local council.
Barrister Musbahu who is a high ranking member of the rescue team assured that the team will restore Ikara back on the track of progress.
Also reacting to the report, Muhammad Rili, who is an advocate of good governance in Ikara promised that he will collaborate with Ikara Rescue team to give the area the much needed lift it needs in order to contribute to the overall progress and development of the state.
