Governor Yahaya Bello gets first female ADC
NEWS DIGEST – The Nigeria Police Force has posted Ifeoma Akaya to serve as Aide de Camp, ADC, to the governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello.
Police sources say Ms Akaya, an assistant superintendent of police, is the first female officer to serve as ADC to a Nigerian governor.

Ms Akaya, a lawyer, is a daughter of the later commissioner of police Charles Akaya.
The position became vacant, following the transfer of Mr Bello’s first ADC, Usman Shugaba, to Lagos. Mr Shugaba, a chief superintendent of police, was later deployed to serve as ADC to the First Lady, Aisha Buhari.
On January 27, Mr Bello was sworn-in as governor for second term in office after emerging winner in the November 2019 Kogi governorship election.
