AREWA AGENDA – Wife of the Deputy Speaker, Federal House of Representatives, Barrister Nafisat Ahmed Idris Wase has donated a women and children hospital to Bashar Community in Wase Local Government Area of Plateau State.

Barrister Wase who revealed that the project was fully sponsored by her, stated that she built the hospital in order to ease the pain women and children undergo in the community with regards to health coverage.

“The clinic is a necessity. During a visit to the village, I saw a woman who was in labour and in distress. The nurse did not know the baby was breached as there were no facilities to discover this until the two legs of the baby came out. They had to put her in a taxi to visit a different hospital which was at another local government area three hours away… her legs still wide open with the baby’s legs hanging out of her private part. I had to do something about it and that is what spurred the birth of the Women and Children Clinic.” She told Arewa Agenda.

Residents of the Community have continued to express excitement and appreciation as they described the Deputy Speakers wife action as patroitic, noting that it is a heartwarming gesture to all lovers of progress.
