‘I Have Wife And Four Daughters’, Akpabio Apologizes To Senator Natasha Over Disparaging ‘Night Club’ Comment

Senate President Godswill Akpabio has apologized to the senator representing Kogi Central Senatorial District, Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan over his recent disparaging ‘night club’ club targeted as her.
Akpabio tendered his apology on Tuesday at the floor of the senate during a plenary.
Recall that last week Senator Natasha stood up to comment on an important debate during plenary in the senate, and was reprimanded by the Senate President, telling her to seek permission before speak, and adding that the senate chamber is not a ‘night club’.
The comment had since attracted condemnation from from Nigerians both in the conventional and social media.

Reacting to the backlash, the Senate President tendered his unreserved apologies to the Kogi Central Senator, adding that his comment was taken out of context.
He also appreciate Nigerians for their reactions, acknowledging that it’s a testament to the fact that they are connected to the Nigerians directly.
Akpabio who said he received a lot assaults from Nigerians said that he wouldn’t intensionally disparage a woman because she has a wife and four daughters.
“I did not mean any harm and what they are interpreting in the social media, my comment was intended that we should not shout when we are in plenary.
“My wife called me that people are not happy, that she received over two thousand calls. I tried to on one of my phones crashed within three hours.
“So distinguished Senator, I tender my apologies if you feel offended. If I had said we are not in the market, people would have said I called you a market woman”, he said.
