When Killings Is Becoming The New Normal In Ilorin

AREWA AGENDA – I have took the silence pill all this while purposely because I observed that truth is becoming a rare commodity and in some cases herbal mixture (Agbo) that most of us are not ready to take.

But it’s imperative for all well meaning Ilorites to come together in one voice not just to condemn the incessant killings that is far becoming a new normal in Ilorin but to equally look for the way forward.

Life cannot be eventful and peaceful if people are living under threats and uncertain of their safety. There will never be a peaceful and harmonious Society when people are living in panic and fear.

What is happening in Ilorin at this moment call for serious intervention not just from the people in government but also from all peace loving Ilorites who really see Ilorin as their home.

What do we call all these;
During Ramadan about 5 innocent people lost their lives at Adabata Ilorin. They were weirdly murdered in front of their Families. what a pity.

Before then, 2 people were killed in Ita-Elepa very close to Oja Oba, they were innocent people striving to earn a living.

Less I forget, 5 people were murdered at Agbo-Oba in Ilorin inside a barber shop.
All these happened within 2 months interval.

The recent one is the killing of a contractor according the to the report at my disposal by some thugs at Oloje in Ilorin today.

The big question is; how do we get to this sorry state and what exactly is our government and other concern citizens are doing to stop this unfortunate happenings before it grow beyond us?.

Cult clash and Killing incidences in the past were peculiar to areas like Kwara Poly Tanke, Agbo-oba, Sango and other areas close to the two major citadel of learning within Ilorin but the dastard act is now more adverse in Ilorin City than where it emanated from. Hundreds of precious lives were lost in the hands of Cultist and Thugs; for how long do we continue pretending as if all is well?.

Our people are no more safe even at their comfort zones, there is need for all concern Ilorites to put asides their differences and look for ways to stop this nonsense.

The evil we fail to condemn today may come to hunt us tomorrow.

Ilorin Koni baje ooo
