Troops Kill 26 Bandits, Frees Kidnapped Victims in Katsina, Zamfara

AREWA AGENDA – About 26 bandits have been killed and victims of kidnapped freed by Nigerian military personnel of operation ‘Hadarin Daji’ in Zamfara and Katsina States respectively.

Acting Director, Defence Media Operations, Defence Headquarters (DHQ) Brig.-Gen. Benard Onyeuko who disclosed this in a press statement revealed that the troops recovered nine firearms and several ammunition in the operations which was carried out on March 19th.

He said that two of the bandits were invalidated at Bindim and Koli Towns in Maru Local Government Area (LGA) of Zamfara State, where 17 rounds of 7.62mm AK47 ammunition and a motorcycle were recovered.

“In the same vein, troops of Operation HADARIN DAJI while on patrol at Gando, rescued seven males and two females kidnapped by bandits. The victims have been handed over to their families.

“Also, about 42 cattle and 38 sheeps were recovered. Troops are currently dominating the area with patrols which have helped to build confidence of locals.” Brig.-Gen. Onyeuko said.

While reiterating the commitment of the Nigerian military to curb insecurity, he encouraged the public to always provide credible information to operatives
