Third-Estate, Ilorin Emirate Forums Mourn Death of Sardauna Ayinla Saro

A leading socio-cultural group, Third-Estate and other prominent Ilorin Emirate Forums have expressed grief over the death of a renown industrialist and philanthropist, Alhaji Umar Ayinla Saro.

Alhaji Saro, who was until his death the Sardauna of Ilorin, died after a brief illness.

The President of Third-Estate, Alhaji Ahmed Bolaji Nagode said the association received the death of Ayinla Saro with a rude shock.

Nagode paid tribute to Late Saro for his immense contributions to the development of his communities and described him “an institution in his field.”

He said: “We can attest to the fact that late Sardaunan Ilorin lived a religious life in line with the dictates of the Islamic injunctions and has been an inspirational guide to many

“We will continue to remember him for his patriotism and quest for peace and progress of our communities as he undertook various philanthropic ventures and spiritual guidance not only in Ilorin but also in Nigeria as a whole.

“We, therefore, use this medium to extend our condolences to the families of late Sardauna of Ilorin, Alhaji Ayinla Saro, the Emir of Ilorin, His Royal Highness, Alhaji Dr Ibrahim Zulu Gambari CFR, Government of Kwara State for this great loss,” he concluded.

Similarly, the Ilorin Emirate Descendants Progressive Union (IEDPU) has joined the list of prominent individuals and groups mourning the death of an accomplished international business magnate and the Sardauna of Ilorin,Alhaji Umaru Aminu Saro.

In a statement issued by its National Publicity Secretary, Abubakar Imam, on behalf of IEDPU National President, Alhaji Aliyu Otta Uthman, fsi,the Union described the death of Alhaji Saro as not only very painful but also deeply regrettable particularly at this point in time when the community was still battling with the pain associated with the loss of the pioneer Grand Kadi of Kwara State and Sarkin Malamai of Ilorin ,Justice Abdulkadir Orire and two returning students of the Usman DanFodiyo University, Sokoto.

The statement described Alhaji Saro as a great patriot and exemplary leader who impacted deeply on the sociocultural and economic development of Nigeria and most especially that of Ilorin Emirate,recalling the recent efforts he made which led to the obtainment of the Certificate of Occupancy for the 45 years old Ilorin Yidi Praying Ground, among other distinguished interventions of his over the years.

In another condolence message, Members of Ilorin Anchors Men and Women Initiatives described the death of the late industrialist, Saro CFR as a colossal loss to Ilorin Emirate community and beyond.

The group in a condolence message signed by its president, Dr. Musa Abdullah and the Publicity Secretary, Nasir Abdulquadri said, “This is another grieving moment to mourn the passage of an exemplary patriot, a notable business mogul and peace-loving elder statesman, Alh. Umar Aminu Saro CFR. We are indeed pained by the death of this illustrious son of Ilorin Emirate who touched so many lives with his God-given endowments.

The Members of the Ilorin Emirate Stakeholders Forum also joined sympathizers to mourn the demise of the Late Sarduana of Ilorin Emirate,

In a condolence message signed by the President of the association, Engr. Yusuf Olatunji Ahmed and made available through the Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Aladie, the group described the late Saro as an upright industrialist and exemplary philanthropist who dedicated his life to advance the developments of his community and beyond. He was a progressive patriot that left his footprints across the length and breadth of the Emirate.

“Ilorin has indeed lost an enigma person, the late Alhaji Umar Saro, especially at the time that his wisdom and development expertise are much needed in the affairs of the Emirate in particular and Kwara State in general,” the statement added.
