Arewa Agenda and the Dr. Magashi Example

AREWA AGENDA – It is not often in life that we come across selfless individuals whose dedication to advocacy and humanity is unparalleled.
That is why the name Dr. Aminu Magashi Garba resonates with fanfare and unrivaled acclaim as far as progress, development and mentorship goes in both National and International circles.
Widely renowned for mentoring and encouraging people to take action in serving humanity for betterment of society and the world at large, Dr. Magashi is a man who has indeed touched many lives beyond measure.
Reminiscence of where he had probably started from came to the fore today when people came across his facebook post dated 4th September, 2020 that was shared ten years ago – precisely in 2010 – where he encouraged others to start changing the lives of those around them with the little they have, emphasising that they should not wait till they are rich.
Ten years down the line, he is a living evidence of a man who has stood and lived by his words and worldview.
Today the world is witnessing how he supported and mentored people to take action on most of the social problems affecting them.
Currently he is supporting a triple intervention program as a response to the COVID19 pandemic aimed at changing the lives of young girls that becomes vulnerable because of the novel health crisis.

He has supported and inspired young organisation, young people, media advocates and development workers to achieve greater impact by touching lives for the greater good.
As a medical Doctor, he founded the Community Health and Research Initiative(CHR) which is a health organisation.
Dr. Magashi is also a columnist with Daily Trust Newspaper spanning about two decades. Aditionaly, he is the founder and Coordinator of the Africa Health Budget Network (AHBN) which is a regional group that uses budget advocacy to influence adequate health spending and improved transparency and accountability.
Furthermore, he was the pioneer chair of the governing Board of Kano State Ultra Modern Specialist Hospitals, KUSH, from Nov 2017 to August 2019 that led a successful executive and legislative advocacy for the enacting of KUSH which is a public-private partnership initiative aimed at improving quality of care in the State.
Dr. Aminu Magashi never relents in encouraging the Youths to become development ambassadors for the betterment of our society.
Indeed, if more people have and agenda like his, the North, the Nation and the world by extension will be a better place.
