The Deadly Bajaj Boxer Motorcycle that Aides Kidnapping, Banditry

AREWA AGENDA – This type of motorcycle is the most popular with armed bandits. It is not only powerful, fuel efficient, and suitable for the bush terrain, it is also convenient in concealing and moving riffles and ammunition. No wonder it is the bandits first choice.
The first step in grounding armed bandits is to ban the use and importation of this type, and similar types, of motorcycles and their spare parts in Nigeria.
The government should also mop up the existing ones from our cities and villages while paying full compensation to owners that have genuine proof of ownership.

Note that this is not calling for the total ban of motorcycle use in Nigeria. Nahi! This call is specific to this category of motorcycles that provides bandits with extreme capacity and utility to kill, maim, loot and subvert.
Other less powerful motorcycles with smaller tank capacities are available as alternative to this deadly specimens.
Some will argue that there are Nigerians especially in rural areas that derive maximum utility from such motorcycles, especially in moving farm produce to markets. I agree. However such Nigerians should consider the wisdom in sacrificing their comfort today for the safety of their lives and properties tomorrow.
Is it not much better to move your farm produce to the market with some sweat and benefit from the proceeds in peace than to convey them to the market with much ease only for armed bandits to rob you of the proceeds directly at gunpoint or indirectly through kidnapping for ransom?
