Suspected Bandits Raid Kaduna Hospital, Abduct Nurses, Patients

Unidentified gunmen, suspected to be bandits in large numbers, have kidnapped two nurses and an unspecified number of patients from the Primary Healthcare Centre in Kuyallo, located in the eastern part of Birnin-Gwari LGA, Kaduna State.

The assailants reportedly targeted a nearby Government Day Secondary School around 9:00 am on Monday. Upon finding the school empty, they moved on to the closest health centre.

According to Musa Alhassan, a leader of the local vigilante group, the bandits were initially looking to abduct students but instead took two female nurses and several patients, leaving the community in fear.

He stated, “The bandits came to the school around 9:00 am, asking about the students, but when they found out the school was empty, they went to the healthcare centre and started kidnapping people. The exact number of patients kidnapped is still unknown.”

An eyewitness also reported that the bandits stormed the healthcare centre wielding guns and machetes, forcibly taking people out of the hospital.

This incident is the latest in a series of attacks by bandits in Kaduna State. As of now, there has been no official statement from the state government on the matter.
