Reviving Pedagogical Legacy: Visitation and Excursions in Islamic Education
In a heartwarming display of kindness and enlightenment, the teachers and students of Markaz Ihyaahi Sunnah Waikhmaadi Bid’ah, situated in Line Chairman, Naibawa/Yanlemu – Kumbotso, Kano, undertook a meaningful educational excursion on December 28th, 2023. The itinerary included visits to Nassarawa Children’s Home and Audu Bako Zoological Garden on Zo Road, Kano.
The primary motive behind the visitation to Nassarawa Children’s Home was rooted in a profound desire to nurture spiritual growth among the students. The aim was to kindle a deeper appreciation for the Creator, Allaah, fostering a sense of empathy and understanding of the teachings emphasizing kindness towards orphans and the vulnerable. The students eagerly embraced the opportunity to extend their support, share moments of joy, and provide assistance to the children residing at the home.
Ustadh Ibraheem Amosa (Albaany), the Director of Markaz Ihyaahi Sunnah Waikhmaadi Bid’ah, Naibawa – Yanlemu, Kano, led the delegation, presenting monetary contributions, food items, Tawheed books, and assorted gifts to the Children’s Home. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Adolescent Health and Information Projects (AHIP), the Late I.G. Maryam, Markaz Mallams, and Old Students for their generous support. Ustadh Ibraheem underscored the significance of such visits, affirming that they complement the institution’s curriculum, enriching students’ practical understanding of Islamic teachings and the essence of sustainability.

He passionately urged other Islamiyyahs to follow suit, emphasizing the importance of empowering students with experiential learning opportunities. Ustadh Ibraheem advocated for visitations to hospitals, special schools, prisons, children’s homes, zoos, and industries, among others, as vital experiences that should be integrated into Islamic education. He fervently highlighted that these initiatives should serve as exemplary practices for mainstream education.
One of the students, Mallama Ruqayah Al Ameen, shared sentiments of gratitude, acknowledging Markaz’s steadfast commitment to reviving fading Islamic heritage through providing free education and educational materials for over 13 years. She expressed her appreciation for the dedicated efforts of the Markaz Mallams, extending prayers for their continued success.
The visitation and excursion not only served as a means to provide relaxation and respite for the students after a period of rigorous academic engagement but also aimed to deepen their appreciation for the diverse creations of Allaah. The experiential learning opportunity at the Audu Bako Zoological Garden reinforced the importance of wildlife management in the community and strengthened the students’ faith through witnessing the wonders of the natural world.
