Shun Crimes, Drugs, Gov. Abba Cautions Kano Students On Postgraduate Scholarship To India
The state governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf on Friday advised indigenous students on Foreign Postgraduate Scholarship to India to shun drugs, and crime while in the southeast Asian Country.
Abba Kabir Yusuf who spoke before their departure to India via Lagos on Friday morning charged them to be good Ambassadors of Kano in particular and the country in general.
The first batch of the beneficiaries numbering 150 that departed Nigeria on the weekend was out of the 1001 successful candidates penciled for overseas studies by the current NNPP administration in the state.
The beneficiaries are first-class degree holders indigenes and residents who are awarded the free and all-expense covered scholarship for postgraduate studies in India and other countries.

He seized the opportunity to applaud his political mentor, Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso for his foresight in coming up with the scheme that produced distinguished scholars in various human endeavors, adding that his administration would be improved on it to put Kano state on the global pedestal.
Yusuf further congratulated both the students and their parents for their cooperation, stressing that the government would continue to do its best to improve the lot of downtrodden in the society.
In a speech at the ceremony, the former governor of Kano state, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso enjoined the students to exploit the opportunity for maximal benefits.
He subsequently donated undisclosed amounts of foreign currencies to the students as part of his contribution to their upkeep.
