PRNigeria Trains KAROTA Personnel on Strategic Communication, Service Delivery
AREWA AGENDA – The PRNigeria Centre for Strategic Communication has hosted management and staff of Kano Road and Traffic Agency, KAROTA to a one-day training workshop on strategic communication and effective service delivery in its Kano Office.
Speaking at the event, a member of the Global Shapers Community at the World Economic Forum, WEF, Ahmad Muhammad Ahmad, Ahmad urged to take communication with stakeholders more seriously to bridge the operational gap and ensure effectiveness in service delivery.
While highlighting some communications gap in the agency’s digital communications engagement, the Communication strategist emphasised that an effective Public Relations strategy is key to achieving effective organizational goal.
While shedding more light on the issue, Mr. Rabiu Shamma, a Director Training at Brahstar MediaComm services limited, pointed out that a good communication skill is capable of increasing revenue for the agency, stating that manner of approach towards traffic offenders, language use, spelling checks on informational materials are key elements of communication that should not be ignored.

From the religious perspective, Mallam Muhammad Al-Bakari Mikhail, Chief Imam of Kantin Kwari Jumma’a Mosque and former deputy commander at the Kano State Hisbah Board, after quoting different verses of the Qur’an and Hadith related to manner of approach, he called the attention of KAROTA officials to follow the guidelines and teachings of the Holy Book.
He further noted that there are clear guidelines to the usage of roads in Islam and those that are in the habit of blocking roads for their personal usage.
In his opening remark Aminu Abba Kwaru, Special Adviser, Media and Publicity to the Managing Director of the Agency, Baffa Babba Danagundi, stated that the training was part of the agency’s continued effort towards improving the capacity of its men in diligently serving the people of Kano State.
“We will definitely continue to explore such trainings in equipping our personnel towards best practices on the job and I can assure the people of Kano State that we will continue to serve them to the best of our ability.” He said.
Men of the Agency who attended the workshop, expressed delight and appreciation for being exposed to such opportunity of improving themselves.
“We have learnt that awareness and good communication between road users and personnel has to be improved in order for us to serve the people better.” M.A. Getso, a KAROTA Superintendent said.
Also speaking Ibrahim Nurudeen Usman, Head of Computer at the Agency said, “The workshop is outstanding and full of awareness and we achieved a lot which will surely add colour to our day to day activities.”
On his part, Bello Mohammad Musa said that the training has equipped him in relating better with stakeholders and other sister security and response agencies.
Earlier, the manager of PRNigeria Kano Centre, Adnan Mukhtar Adamu, expressed optimism that this training will improve the conduct of KAROTA officials in the discharge of their duty.
