COVID-19: PR Nigeria, Foundation Holds Training for Journalists
AREWA AGENDA – As part of its commitment to advance professional practice in Journalism, the PR Nigeria Center for Public Relations and Investigative Journalism in Collaboration with Adamu Abubakar Gwarzo Foundation, will be hosting a one day workshop for Journalists covering the COVID-19 pandemic.
The workshop with the Theme; Ethical and Reporting Practices in the Time of COVID-19, is scheduled to hold on Tuesday, the 7th of July, 2020 in Kano.
Speaking to Arewa Agenda, Manager of the PR Nigeria Kano Center, Adnan Mukhtar Adamu said the workshop is part of the Center’s collective commitment in equipping Journalists across media organizations with the needed skills for understanding and adapting to various issues of ethical concerns, while reporting the pandemic.
“It’s not just enough to be a practicing Journalist. Continous personal and professional development is key to a distinguished and remarkable success in the field.” He enthaused.

Speaking on the selection process, Mr. Adnan stated that, “In order to comply with COVID-19 prevention and control protocol, slots are limited, therefore, entries shall be screened and successful applicants contacted.”
The workshop will bring together seasoned Journalists, Mediapreneurs and Industry experts as facilitators.
It will equally ensure an adequate amount of time for identification, discussion and development of best practical strategies for ethically sharing of COVID-19 related stories.
