Jigawa Police Begin Manhunt of Suspects Who Killed Mother, Injured Daughter
The Jigawa state commissioner of police AT Abdullahi has ordered the intensive investigation to unravel the suspect behind the killing of one Esther Adekanla, also known as Hadiza Nakowa Dutse.
The deceased daughter, daughter Christian Michael, was also alleged to be injured by the yet unknown suspect.
In a statement by DSP Lawan Shiisu Adam, the command public relations officer, he said CP Abdullahi gave the order after detective team of the command found a lifeless body of Esther and her daughter locked in a store.

The statement read “On 15/0I/2024 at about 1600hrs, information at Command’s disposal revealed that one Esther Adekanla ‘f’ of opposite Awajil Filling Station Dutse, popularly known as HADIZA NAKOWA DUTSE was last seen on 12/02/2024 which made her neighbors become suspicious of her being missing, as all efforts made to reach her phone lines proved abortive.”
“On receipt of the report, detectives from the Dutse Division swung into action and proceeded to her house, on their arrival, it was discovered that the house was locked, but the door was forced open where her body was found in the sitting room lying lifeless in a pool of blood.”
The team also observed that there were visible cuts on her head and neck, while the body has started decomposing.
Her daughter, Christiana Michael, aged 11yrs was found locked in a store with cuts on her head, but was said to be alive but unconscious.
According to the statement, both the corpse and the victim were rushed to Rasheed Shekoni Teaching Hospital for confirmation, as well as administering treatment to the injured daughter.
The decreased was later confirmed dead by a medical doctor, while
, the corpse was conveyed to Aminu Kano Teaching Hospital (AKTH), Kano state for autopsy.
