Anti-Daba Police Shoots, Stab to Death Two Youths in Kano
AREWA AGENDA – Men of the Anti-Daba Police squad have allegedly shot and stabbed two youths, Abubakar Isah ( Banupe) and Ibrahim Sulaiman (Mainasara) to death at Sharada quarters, in Kano Metropolis on Saturday night.
The Anti-Daba squad, a unit in the Police, was formed by the state Police Command to combat thugs and thuggery.
According to eyewitnesses, the anti daba unit of Kano Police command were at the area, Sharada phase one, close to the Jumu’at mosque around 11.00 pm on Saturday to arrest a suspect at a tea joint popularly called ‘’indomie spot’’ when pandemonium broke out, as the owner of the spot, Ibrahim Sulaiman (Mainasara), whom the police wanted to arrest his younger brother, Gadaffi demanded to know the offence of the suspect.

‘’ One of the policemen, Ado in trying to drag out, Ibrahim Sulaiman (Mainasara) from the shop, stabbed him twice and he started bleeding. Immediately others at spot rushed to save the situation, the policemen shot into the crowd and Abubakar Isah ( Banupe) was hit by the bullet and died instantly,’’ Yakubu Abubakar,’’ an eyewitness said.
He said the two were rushed to Murtala Muhammad Specialists hospital where attempt to save the life of Ibrahim Sulaiman (Mainasara) was abortive even with a blood transfusion at about 2.00 am.
Meanwhile, with the pandemonium situation, the policemen fled the area, according to another eyewitness, Isa Baba.
The two deceased, Abubakar Isah ( Banupe) and Ibrahim Sulaiman ( Mainasara) were buried this morning as the youths in the area assembled for a protest to demand justice over the alleged killing of the duo.
The Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, is yet to react to this incidence at the time of this report.
