Plateau Lawmaker Intervenes Over Road Cut Off by Heavy Downpour

The Hon. member representing the people of Dengi Constituency and Deputy Speaker of Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Saleh Shehu Yipmong yesterday made a case for need to address the condition of road linking Dugub, Gagdi, Kwalmiya to Dengi town following heavy rainfall leading to the destruction of the road. Recall the road was awarded for construction by Governor Lalong of Plateau State. For the period of three weeks now, there is no movement of vehicles on the road as the result of the cutoff.

The Hon Member while affirming his concern as regards the pains his constituents were subjected to as the result of the cut off, noted that;”the motion has been moved and a committee is to visit soonest to ascertain the the level _and to_ report back for solution _insha Allah”.

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to him for making the voice of his people heard in the Assembly as it relates to the incident of road cut off in his constituency.

While expecting the committee’s work and timely resolution of the Assembly, we wish to commend the Hon member for doing what is expected of him.

It is our sincere hope that government will make everything possible to help in alleviating the suffering of thousands of people who are directly affected by the cutoff.

May Allah continue to guide the Hon. Member in discharging his responsibility diligently.

We are grateful!

ND Shehu Kanam (Babawo), Community and Rural Department Advocate.
