Planned National Protests: KCSF Inaugurates Consultative Committee
The Kano Civil Society Forum (KCSF) has inaugurated an Ad hoc committee with the mandate of carrying out an in-depth study of the issues surrounding the preparation and conducting of planned nationwide protests due to current economic hardships.
The President of the Forum, Mohammed Bello, disclosed this in a statement he signed and made available to newsmen in Kano yesterday after unveiling of the seven-member committee.
According to him, the Committee has the mandate of identifying the organizers of the planned protests within and outside the civil society space in Kano Stateand also engage various stakeholders including religious and community leaders, labour unions, civil society groups, and security agencies among others.
He added that the KCSF will leverage the findings of the Committee to gain adequate information and equally help the Forum to make an informed decision about this pertinent matter.
“The committee’s primary purpose is to engage with a broad range of stakeholders to identify the organizers of the planned protests, both within and outside the civil society space in Kano State.

“This is to ensure KCSF is well equipped with the details and information of the organizers, including their perspectives and planned activities where possible. Secondly, the findings will inform KCSF’s approach in response to the nationally planned protest,” he said.
Mr. Bello also emphasized that the recommendations to be suggested by the Committee will provide a direction for KCSF on how to engage with the government and other critical stakeholders in ameliorating the sufferings of the masses in the State.
“Additionally, the committee aims to gather insights and recommendations to address the severe hardships caused by the increasing poverty and hunger faced by the majority in our state.
“This approach is crucial, considering the volatile and complex nature of Kano State with the planned national protest in sight. The recommendations will inform KCSF’s position and proposal to the respective authorities in addressing the ever-untold hardship in the State and country at large.
“We are committed to fostering dialogue and collaboration to promote peace, security, and stability in our state.” The President added.
Lastly, he solicits the cooperation of the stakeholders to provide the Committee with the necessary information to discharge its duty smoothly.
