PAGED Charges Media Practitioners on Girl Child Education Reportage

The Participatory communication for Gender Development Initiative (PAGED) has tasked journalists on reporting girl child education to bridge the existing barriers in Kano state.
Speaking During Media summit on Girl child Education, PAGED Executive Director Ummi Bukar showcased how girls at the rural communities are still battling to get access to education due to existing challenges and Norms .
According to Bukar, PAGED aims at implementing media Advocacy Project of girls child Education in the state with much Interest on rural communities.

“We have implements many projects in some communities in Kano and the outcome was successful due to grassroots Intervention to vulnerable girls.
“Also, some vulnerable girls have been enrolled into school with learning materials, while also building capacity for girls of around 14 -24 years in few years of our Intervention”, she said.
On his part, the state coordinator, Civil Society Action Coalition on Education for All (CSACEFA)Dr. Auwalu Halilu, said the summit was promoted after the research they carried out over a year ago on the wide gap recorded between girls in the city and rural communities in terms of education.
He also exuded the confidence that the media will help I’m amplifying then.
“We believe the media can amplify advocacy and awareness for bridging barriers of girl child Education in the state,as the government needs working hands to achieve such tremendous projects”.
