Osborn Umahi and Stuff of a Youthful Entrepreneur, by Adnan Mukhtar Tudunwada

There are so many things that make Prince Osborn Nweze Umahi tick. He is a son to the Executive Governor of Ebonyi State. But first, he is a Nigerian youth, most importantly. Then, what is special about the Nigerian youths, by the way?

Now, the Nigerian youths are not just called the ‘most enterprising’ group of the nation’s population for nothing. There are several reasons. And they are all cogent, and absolutely incontrovertible.

Talk of those driving technological innovation, sporting icons, creative business gurus, politics, among other socio-economic facets–either locally or globally. Most of them are youths. And if they can no longer pass off as youths, then, they were ones, at least–when they pioneered their innovative ideas.

Nigeria, as a country, is blessed with many ingenious, and innovative youths who are calling the shots in the nation’s vast business ecosystem. They are entrepreneurs of international repute. Many an economic expert and business analyst will readily choose to describe them that way.

Their business conglomerates are contributing a lot in growing the country’s economy, not to talk of the teeming jobs they equally provided to thousand of unemplyed citizens. One of such enterprises, that is setting the pace in the business of effective management of financial assets, is Forte GCC Innovative Solutions.

Having a portfolio that cut across real estate, stocks, bonds and much more, Forte GCC, with Prince Osborn Nweze Umahi, as one of the head honcho, has been able to manage the assets of some of the wealthiest individuals in Africa. And this is in a manner which is unrivalled.

Though Prince Nweze Umahi, may only be a Director of Finance at Forte GCC Innovative Solutions, but he appears to be the ‘engine room’ of the firm.

This is evidenced in the purposeful direction, clear vision and result-oriented leadership Nweze Umahi has displayed and provided within the circle of his position at Forte GCC, which manifested in the exceptional feats recorded by the firm, in Nigeria’s ‘strangulating’ business firmament.

Specifically, and perhaps, unlike other businesses, Forte GCC, with the best of seasoned fund managers, financial and quantitative analysts in its team, often and meticulously considers the interest of its customers, while advising them on how to invest their capitals for either short or long term.

Over the little years of its existence, the Innovative Solutions firm, thanks to the outstanding and uncommon team playing skills of Prince Umahi as its Finance Director, has created hundreds of investment portfolios for business owners and private individuals, with knack for investment saving.

It is not only at Forte GCC that the business savvy Nweze Umahi is showcasing the keener stuff he is made of, he is doing awesomely brilliant at other business firms and coys owned by the Umahi, to say the least.

The young Umahi, who completed his university degree in Civil Engineering at Surrey University, United Kingdom, and went on to obtain a masters in Finance from Aberdeen University, is also the Managing Director of Brass Oil and Construction Limited.

An expert in asset management, Prince Nweze Umahi, who is interested in improving financial literacy in Nigeria, and Africa, at large, is equally the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, of Osborn Lapalm Royal Resort. Again, he is one of the founders of Osborn Foundation.

Only established in July this year, the Osborn Foundation of Osborn Nweze Umahi, and other partners in national progress and educational development, provided dozens of books and writing materials to a Kano school, not too long ago.

The Foundation is also in partnership with some academic institutions in Ebonyi at the moment, and will sponsor 50 pupils to select, but standard secondary schools in the State for their high school programme, by the end of the year.

As for Brass Construction Limited, which specializes in road and bridges construction, Prince Nweze Umahi, though a young but cerebral engineer, has excellently supervised and delivered nicely several construction projects awarded the firm. The Brass Oil subsidiary of the firm has multiple fuelling stations across Nigeria. And is greatly contributing to the development of the oil and gas sector, albeit indirectly, through its business services.

Talking about hotels or resorts that give its clients a taste of world-class hospitality, the Osborn Hotel, Royal Hotel and Apartment Resorts in Ebonyi, Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos, which are among the sole properties of the Umahis, are second to none. The architecture of the Umahis’ hospitality edifices in the aforementioned cities is nothing short of breathtaking.

Indeed, the amazing exploits of the young Osborn Nweze, especially in the sterling and professional manner he is helping to drive the gigantic business empire of the Umahi dynasty, is one that is exemplary and at the same time, intimidating.

If the young Umahi, who perhaps, can be regarded as the scion of his illustrious family, continues to blaze the trail in the art of corporate business management, then it will only be a matter of time before he becomes the next big thing in the ‘Giant of Africa’s’ expansive business stratosphere, which is already defined by the accomplishments of the Dangotes and Otedolas, among others iconic Nigerian business magnates.
