Ododo’s Scorecard Thus Far In Lugard House: A Beacon of Progress, Hope And Transformation

In our dear state, Kogi, Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo has been able to ignite a flame of progress that illuminates every corner of our communities despite his short stint in the office so far.
Notwithstanding, there were obvious challenges that threatened to stymie, and put wedges in the smooth progress of his administration in its very embryonic stage.
However, like the solid rock of Gibraltar, he stood tall, rose above them, and continue to ensure that governance is brought to the very doorstep of of all Kogi citizens.
One of those his challenges or distractions was the election litigation, where his closest rival in the November 11 Kogi governorship election, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka of the SDP was contesting or still contesting his victory. Even though it’s a total complete subject of discourse for another day, but how a candidate who came in a distant second, where the first candidate led with over 187,185 irreversible votes in an election, still summoned courage to challenge or question such election remains shocking.
Also posing a serious challenge to his fledgling stint in office was the recent heinous and devilish abduction of the students of Confluence University of Science and Technology (CUSTEC), Osara by some daredevil kidnappers.
Faced with the unprecedented crisis, Governor Ododo’s response exemplified courage, compassion, and decisive action, earning him praise from both within and beyond the state.
As news of the abduction sent shockwaves throughout not just the state, but the entirety of the nation, Governor Ododo wasted no time in mobilizing resources and coordinating efforts to ensure the safe return of the students. His swift response underscored a deep commitment to the safety and well-being of the citizens of Kogi State, particularly its youth—the future of the nation, even though two of the students were later assassinated.
So far, in the early months of his administration, Ododo has been able to approach each obstacle with innovative, prompt and swift solutions, which give hopes for a brighter future.
With a steadfast commitment to service and an unwavering dedication to the people, Governor Ododo is already spearheading an era of unprecedented development and prosperity.
From the moment Ododo took office, the trajectory of our state shifted, especially the much alleged and maligned non payment of local government workers, while also consolidating on the positive achievements of his Immediate predecessor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello.

One of the hallmark achievements of Governor Ododo’s tenure thus far is the ongoing revitalization of our education system. Recognizing that education is the cornerstone of progress, Governor Ododo has vowed to launch comprehensive reforms aimed at improving access to quality education for all, also, that under his leadership, crumbling and dilapidated school infrastructures will be renovated, and state-of-the-art facilities be established in underserved areas.
Additionally, Governor Ododo’s regime has already initiated robust scholarship programs and vocational training initiatives, that would empower our youth to pursue their dreams and contribute meaningfully to society.
Also worthy of attention is his commitment to economic development, which in no distant time would begin to spur unprecedented growth and investment in our state. By fostering a business-friendly environment and implementing strategic economic policies, Governor Ododo’s government has started attracting both domestic and foreign investors, which would soon start to create thousands of jobs and stimulating economic activity across various sectors.
His focus on infrastructure development is also an encouraging one, which promises to enhance connectivity and accessibility, laying the groundwork for sustained growth and prosperity for generations to come.
In addition to his achievements in education and economic development, Governor Ododo has been a champion of social justice and inclusion. He has implemented progressive policies aimed at combating discrimination and promoting equality, ensuring that every citizen has the opportunity to thrive regardless of their ethnic, religious and political backgrounds or circumstances.

All Governor Ododo needs now is our collective supports, because no leader can
succeed without the supports of followers. It’s time to throw ethnic, religious and political differences into the dustbin of history,while we join hands with him to make our state a prosperous one,worthy of mention amongst comity of state
